Long-horizon task

A task that takes an agent many steps and decisions to complete, like resolving a support ticket end to end or refactoring a codebase, rather than producing a single response. Long-horizon tasks are where current agents fail most, which is why labs buy RL environments to practice them and real-world workflow and demonstration data to ground them. The longer the horizon, the more a weak verifier or unrealistic simulation costs.
